The Women of the Wall organization failed, Thursday, in its attempt to get a Torah scroll into the women's prayer area at the Western Wall of the Temple in Jerusalem for the reading associated with the Sukkot holiday.

Eyewitnesses said they were prevented by ushers from taking the scroll into the area via the main entrance. An attempt to have a man and a boy sympathetic to their cause pass the scroll into the women's area via the men's prayer area was thwarted by haredi-religious worshipers.
