Training involving the Merkava 4 tank was suspended, Tuesday, following a Monday-evening training accident at the Shizafon base in the Negev, which left a tank commander under sedation and on a respirator at Soroka Hospital in Be'er Sheva' with serious head injuries.
The military is investigating the cause of the accident, which occurred when the commander went to a weapon that was mounted on the tank.
