Chief of Israel’s Military Intelligence Directorate, Major-General Hertzl Halevi, has dismissed three commanding officers over an incident in which a subordinate drowned while serving in Israel's Central Collection Unit of the Intelligence Corps (unit 8200).
The drowned soldier, Corporal (E-4) Ilan Yankelevich, age 19, was a resident of Netanya. He drowned to death last July, in a reservoir next to Kibbutz Kissufim.
