A senior source in the team treating former prime minister Shim'on Peres told Maariv, Sunday evening, that Peres has been taken off a respirator and given a special mask that allows him to breathe more easily.
The source called the step a sign of a slight improvement in Peres's condition and an indication that the elder statesman will be able to breathe independently as he recovers from last week's stroke.
