The heads of the haredi factions in the Knesset protested planned work on the train soon to be undertaken on Shabbat which doesn't involve the saving of life and is therefore unnecessary according to Jewish law.
They called to do the work on weeknights and said that "doing work on the eve of Shabbat is very severe, and we protest for the sake of the honor of Shabbat."
