Israel's Supreme Court criticized the government for failing to implement the agreement to upgrade an egalitarian prayer space at the Kotel. The agreement was approved by cabinet in January, and NIS 35 million was allocated for the construction of the new area and to purchase religious items for use in the area.
The agreement is vigorously opposed by Haredi authorities.
