The top military commander of the Army of Conquest, the largest Syrian rebel alliance, was killed in an airstrike during a meeting of the group's leaders, jihadist sources said Thursday, according to the AFP news agency.
The leader killed is that of Fateh al-Sham, formerly known as Al-Nusra Front, which was the Syrian branch of Al-Qaeda before the two groups cut ties in late July.
