Education Minister Naftali Bennett marked the beginning of the public-school year by saying, Thursday morning, "It's a festive morning."
With a few exceptions, Bennett noted, "The school year began, today, as planned. We are waiting for all the children of Israel with open arms. The education system is focusing, today, on academic and ethical excellence. All Israeli children should have a successful school year."
