Associates of Minister Aryeh Deri said on Thursday night that an alleged "difficult conversation" between Deri and Minister Yisrael Katz of the Likud, over repairs on the Israel Railways during Shabbat, never took place.
According to the sources, “Ministers Deri and Litzman and MK Gafni held a conference call with Minister Yisrael Katz, during which he tried to convince them that only the Prime Minister can decide to cancel the work on Shabbat. The impression of the heads of the haredi factions is that the Shabbat is being compromised due to the internal problems within the Likud secretariat.”
