Unidentified assailants opened fire at a convoy carrying CHP Republican People's Party leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, Thursday afternoon in northeast Turkey, according to BNO News. The opposition leader was unharmed after the shooting.
Initial reports indicate that the assailants opened fire at security forces as the convoy approached, wounding two members of the security forces. As a precaution, a CHP event in the region was canceled and Kılıçdaroğlu's convoy went to a secure location.
