The IDF personnel directorate announced on Tuesday a police change for mandatory soldier vacations.
According to the new policy, soldiers will be entitled to 18 vacation days, to be used during quiet times and before festivals. The new policy will replace the previous 15 days of vacation a soldier was entitled to annually. Similarly, soldiers will receive another five days of vacation, to be set at the discretion of their commanders.
All told, soldiers will now be entitled to 23 days of leave per annum, in accordance with their commanders' decisions.
