The Or Yarok (Green Light) Association for Safer Driving in Israel said, Monday, that it was offended by the establishment of a ministerial committee to fight traffic deaths, according to Yedioth Ahronoth. The NGO said there was no use in establishing a new committee when an identical was established several years ago but hardly did anything.

Executive Director Shmuel Abuav noted, "The committee that was supposed to concern itself with our lives only met three times in four years and only made one decision." He added, "The prime minister must make the saving of human life and road safety at the head of [his] priorities as did with the terrorist attacks. It is time that the government assumes responsibility for what is happening on the roads "
