A new bill by Member of Knesset Nurit Koren seeks to require food producers and importers to use a special sticker to mark products that might contain harmful bacteria. It would also tell consumers how to take care of these products for their proper use and the health of the consumer.

Marketing chains would also have to make things clear to the consumer. The bill is primarily aimed at regulation of eggs, beef and chicken. It follows a number of scares of food tainted with salmonella and other bacteria.
