Wednesday evening's return of terrorist Muhamad al-Kalouti’s body to his family in Kfar Akab north of Jerusalem was made despite the opposition of Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman, who has demanded an end to such transfers.

Earlier on Wednesday, Liberman pledged to do everything within his power to bar such transfers, threatening to appeal to the Supreme Court over the issue. Within hours Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit rejected Liberman’s stance, claiming there was no legal basis to the Defense Minister’s attempts to prevent the return of terrorists’ bodies.
