Chief of Staff Gadi Eisenkot of the Israel Defense Forces told the Knesset State Control Committee, Tuesday, "Terrorism as a phenomenon is a frequent occurrence. The Palestinians consider terrorism a political, social and religious tool to achieve their aims. Therefore it is a daily phenomenon we are dealing with in Judea and Samaria, and it has other aspects."

Eisenkot spoke at a meeting about the way Israel is dealing with residents of the Palestinian Authority who are in other parts of Israel without permission. After his statement, the discussion was declared a closed-door meeting and reporters were removed, according to IDF Radio.
