The Knesset Subcommittee on Civilian and Security Matters in Judea and Samaria demanded, Monday, an investigation by a general in the Israel Defense Forces Central Command into a recent incident at the proposed Rimonim waste-disposal site in the Binyamin region of Samaria, in which Palestinian Authority police officers shot in the air. Arab and Jewish protesters came to disrupt work on the site which was banned by Supreme Court pending a decision on a petition against the site being located there.
The site is in Area C, which is supposed to be under Israeli security control. During an urgent hearing on the incident, the question was raised what the PA police were doing there, let alone firing their guns, even if it was only in the air.
