The chairman of the Knesset's Sports Lobby, MK Yoel Razvozov (Yesh Atid), on Tuesday evening congratulated Yarden Gerbi for winning a bronze medal at the Rio Olympcis.
"This is an historic moment for Yarden Gerbi and for all the people of Israel. I hope this tremendous achievement will give a boost and motivate the rest of the Israeli athletes who will compete in the Olympics, and that this medal will be just the first of many medals at the Olympics," said Razvozov.
"Gerbi proved to anyone who had any doubt that with a relatively small investment with relations to the state budget, Israel can be among the frontrunners in global sports. By developing athletes from the 'smaller' sports we can bring the country a lot more respect. And that's exactly what Yarden Gerbi did tonight," he added.
