The Kinneret (Sea of Galilee) Authority and Association of Kinneret Cities announced, Thursday morning, that lifeguard service will be extended until 19:00 each day at the association's 15 beaches from Friday until the end of August. The extended hours at the Kinar separate-bathing beach will go into effect Monday through Thursday, immediately after the fast of Tisha B'Av on August 15th.
The authority and the association noted that a lot of people are still entering the water after 17:00 because there's daylight and it's hot, increasing the chance of drowning.
