Chairwoman Anat Berko of the Knesset Cyber Subcommittee expressed concern, Monday, about what she called the unnecessary division of powers between Israel's Cyber Authority and other bodies. Noting that the authority and various security agencies have different vested interests and approaches, Dr. Berko gave the example of taking the nation from routine status to emergency status, which, she said, should be within the authority of the relevant security agency and not the Cyber Authority.

The Likud lawmaker was also concerned about the leak of security information, given the Cyber Authority containing civilian groups.
