After receiving a letter of boycott from the opposition organizer, Knesset Chairman Yuli Edelstein (Likud) took the plenum to task:
"This is not the way to run a parliament! For anyone who wants there is an Agreements Committee every Monday. There they discuss [issues], and don't always agree. There are enough parliamentary exercises which can be put into play, and many possibilities allowed by these policies.
If we, instead, come to punitive measures and boycotts here, from both sides, not much of this institution will be left...and in the end, everyone will be hurt, Knesset members and the Israeli public both."
