The Labour, Welfare, and and Health Committee passed a bill for its first reading the Knesset, which is meant to improve the quality of the food served in after-school programs.
Initiated by MK Rachel Azariya (Kulanu), the bill would transfer the responsibility for the quantity and nutritional quality of the food in after-school programs to the Ministry of Health.
A bill must be read three times in the Knesset in order to be passed into law.
