Bill which would give payments to indebted foster families passed for second, third readings

The Labour, Welfare, and Health Committee unanimously voted to pass a foster-child bill for a second and third reading.

The bill will allow the government to issue payments to foster families, even if they are in debt.

The families may make use of the payments after 30 days after they are entered into the family account. The remainder of the family's funds will not be affected.
