The Alon search-and-rescue organization warns the public to take precautions when hiking, as yeshivas join the rest of Israel's schools in entering summer vacation.
Head of Alon, Evyatar Elbaz, wrote in a statement: "Every year, we get some 4,000 calls regarding missing persons in the state of Israel...I turn to the public, and beg that at this time, you pay attention to the commandment 'And you will guard well for yourselves your lives'."
