Kahlon: We'll oppose delaying new public broadcast corp

Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon has made it clear that he won't lend a hand to a delay in establishing a new public broadcasting corporation, according to a Thursday report by Yediot Ahronot. Earlier this week, it was announced that the new company would not replace the financially troubled Israel Broadcasting Authority until 2018 because the new company was not ready to start operations.

The founder and chairman of the Kulanu party said, "My party and I will oppose delaying the establishment of the public broadcasting corporation in the Knesset and in the cabinet. According to the report, Kahlon has the power to thwart the delay under the coalition agreement because all budget transfers over ten million shekels require his approval.
