The Knesset Labour and Welfare Committee has passed, for its second and third reading in the Knesset, a law which would allow the closure of a building site in case of a mortal accident.
Committee Chairman MK Eli Alaluf (Kulanu) said "We have the ability to change the intolerable situation which prevails in the field, wherein dozens of construction workers are killed every year, and more injured. We will not cease to act until we take care of the problem at its source."
