The Knesset approved, Monday evening, the Equal Parenting Law of Knesset member Rachel Azaria (Kulanu), which is intended to allow 180,000 fathers to leave work early to be with their newborns during the four months after the end of a woman's maternity leave.
Under the current law, only one parent is allowed to leave early. The new law will allow parents to split and coordinate the early departure with employers in advance.
