Former Turkish Air Force commander Akin Ozturk has denied involvement in this weekend's failed coup, according to Turkish media monitored by the Walla website. Earlier the official Anadolu news agency reported that Ozturk had admitted to taking part in the planning of the attempt.
The independent Haberturk and NTV networks cited a statement by Ozturk to prosecutors that he did not plan or lead the coup attempt or know who was behind it.
