Chief of Staff Gadi Eisenkot of the Israel Defense Forces said, Tuesday, that Israel's use of force and the results of the Second Lebanon War are responsible for a decade of quiet and deterence in the north. Speaking at a day-long seminar for senior command staff to mark the 10th anniversary of the start of the war, Eisenkot said Israel's superiority in intelligence has improved.
The chief of staff said, "We have an overwhelming advantage over our adversaries to attack a large number of targets in short while." He added, "If we must [fight] another war, victory will be determined at the strategic level by our standing as the IDF with goals of the war which will be defined for us or which we will define ourselves."
