The Knesset Finance Committee approved in principle, Tuesday, the privatization of the Jerusalem public-housing company Prazot and its merger with the Amidar public-housing company. The purpose of the move is to cut costs related to managing public housing and thereby increase the amount of money available to purchase dwellings for public housing.
Committee members are proceeding cautiously with the move to avoid harming employees of the two companies as a result of the proposed merger.
