The Haredi parties are sponsering a bill that would support the "status quo" in regards to the government's official stance on Shabbat.
As of now, public transportation ceases to operate on Shabbat in Israel. Recently, several lawmakers have been pushing a to run public transportation on Shabbat for the country's largly secular populace.
