The United States Department of Defense has confirmed the $300 million sale of eight new helicopters to Israel from military surplus as part of security for the Leviathan natural gas field off the Mediterranean coast. The Sikorsky SH-60F Seahawk is mainly dedicated to marine search-and-rescue work.
