Elbit Systems announced, Sunday, that it has been awarded a contract of about $19 million to provide a local government in Uruguay a safe district project covering 2,000 square kilometers, including the Punta del Este tourist resort.
The project will include more than a thousand strategically-placed cameras and sensors. It will take about two years to put into place.
