President Reuven Rivlin was warmly received by Jewish community President Alexander Oscar on his state visit to Bulgaria.
“This is a flourishing community with a long history behind it, dating back as far as the second century of the Common Era,” admired Rivlin.
He commented on “a community with a rich culture, and a deep tradition of diversity. To an extent, there is here an in-gathering of the exiles. It is a great honor to be a guest in your home.”
As he departed from the meeting, President Rivlin added, “I want to assure you that you will always have a home, if you wish, in the State of Israel.”
