The average monthly salary for the month of April stood at 9,767 shekels (about $2,508), according to labor figures released on Thursday by the Central Bureau of Statistics. The figure for the three months ending in April reflected a 2.5 percent nominal wage hike on an annualized basis over the previous quarter, while the real annualized increase was 3.1 percent.
Of the more than 3.4 million salaried positions in the country, about a third were in economic sectors where the average salary was above the national average and two thirds were below.
