The Knesset Finance Committee approved, Tuesday, a 35-percent discount for taxes on donations to 70 organizations which had been examined by the Tax Authority and Registrar of Associations.
The activities of the organizations are not directly funded out of the state treasury, other than through the tax discount. Committee Chairman Moshe Gafni said the organizations often engage in activities in which the state should be engaged.
