ISIS claimed credit for three bombings today that claimed the lives of 80, leaving more than 160 injured. The first attack involved a suicide car bomb near a restaurant and shopping area in the central district of Karrada. A second bomb exploded later in a predominantly Shia area north of the capital. The third attack took place when a bomber, wearing a suicide belt, detonated in a busy square in the Shiite neighborhood of al-Kadhimiya.
The attacks come a week after Iraqi forces recaptured the city of Falluja from the hands of ISIS.
The attacks mark the deadliest day Iraq has faced in more than a year.
