Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met on Wednesday with representatives of the UTJ party. They demanded that the government not recognize Reform Judaism in any capacity. The meeting included Attorney General Avichai Mendelblit, Chief Rabbis Yitzhak Yosef and David Lau, Interior Minister Aryeh Deri, Health Minister Yakov Litzman and MK Moshe Gafni (UTJ).

The representatives stressed that they would oppose "any foothold given to Reform Jews, especially at the Western Wall, which is a sacred place for the Jewish people throughout the generations."
