Chairman of the Interior Committee, MK David Amsalem, responded during a visit to the Yad Sarah organization’s building in Jerusalem to reform prayers at the Kotel (Western Wall).

“To this day, whoever wanted to pray at the Kotel has done so, including reform Jews. There is a men’s section and a women’s section and no one asks what religion or denomination you belong to. Whoever wants to come to the Kotel knows that there are rules to abide by.”

According to the MK, “My perception on the reform issue is that reforms are made at the Tax Authority or at the National Insurance Institute; not in religion. Religion was handed down to us by Moses at Sinai and has nothing to do with reforms. Reforms are done at canneries or at the Tax Authority.”
