Police in Bahrain have arrested Nabeel Rajab, an outspoken human rights activist, Reuters reports. Rajab was released from prison almost a year ago, thanks to a royal pardon.

His wife Sumaya says that police did not give any reason when they took Nabeel away, and authorities have not commented on the incident.

Rajab founded the Bahrain Center fo rHuman Rights and helped lead widespread demonstrations in 2011. He and others claim that the government discriminates against Shi'ites.
