Bangladeshi authorities are working to crack down on Islamist violence and have arrested over a hundred militants, Reuters reports.
Islamists have killed a number of activists and members of minorities recently, prompting wide-scale responses from the government. Since Friday, over 6,000 suspects have been arrested. The current operation is scheduled to last until this coming friday.
Police say that the 6,000 arrests were related to weapons, drugs and other crimes.
