The Polish military has begun a combined exercise with NATO forces.
"The purpose of the exercise is to test the ability of NATO countries to protect their eastern flank," said Polish Defense Minister Antoni Macierewicz.
A total of 31,000 troops from 24 countries are taking part, making this the largest such exercise in 27 years.
