The IDF archive in the Defense Ministry has released rare testimony of IDF generals following the 1967 Six Day War.
The testimony comes from senior officers, including Chief of Staff Yitzhak Rabin, Northern Command head David "Dado" Elazar, Central Command head Uzi Narkiss, Southern Command head Yishayahu Gavish and Air Force chief Mottie Hod.
The testimonies, which come from personal notes and efforts to draw lessons from the war, show serious concerns over entering the fighting, a lack of confidence that the state would enter fighting, and concerns over the media's portrayal of events. In addition, there are dramatic descriptions of the liberation of Jerusalem's Old City, minute-by-minute.
