Police Commissioner Roni Alsheich met with Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit. Upon the conclusion of their meeting, it was decided that the two would issue a joint statement regarding the “Prime Minister’s Residence case,” which implicates Prime Minister’s wife Sara Netanyahu of wrongdoings and recommends that she stand trial.
“Following an investigation, the findings were transferred to the Attorney General. The Police Department’s position is that there is evidence pointing to crimes committed by several sources involved in the case. Once the police’s position was given over, the Police Commissioner believed that on principle it is inappropriate to make the recommendations public and turn the legal-professional debate into a public debate,” the statement read.
