The Taliban in Afghanistan announced that Mullah Haibatullah Akhundzada was appointed as the terrorist organization’s leader, roughly on week after previous Taliban leader Akhtar Mansour was eliminated in an American attack.
Akhundzada was one of Mansour’s two deputies.
