Chief Supreme Court Justice Miriam Naor has rejected MK Nurit Koren's (Likud) claim that Mizrahi candidates for judicial positions are systematically rejected.
"I can firmly state: Never -- and I repeat, never -- have the ethnic origins of a candidate for the course been taken into consideration," said Naor. "And it's certain that no candidate has ever been disqualified because of his origin."
Mizrachim (the plural of Mizrachi) are Jews who came from the Middle East and North Africa.
