MK Yitzhak Herzog spoke on Wednesday at a Memorial Day ceremony at the military section of the cemetery in Netanya.

“From the early days of the State of Israel, we have maintained the principle that the nation’s forefathers dictated: one hand on the trigger, defending the state’s security and its citizens against any enemy, while the second hand is outstretched towards peace,” he said.

Herzog added that “We must ensure that this principle continues to exist today. Peace is a central component in security and does not contradict it,” he added.
