Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked responded on Thursday morning to statements made on Wednesday by IDF Deputy Chief-of-Staff Yair Golan and said that “His statements indicate a lack of understanding and a sense of contempt and disrespect for the Holocaust.”
According to Shaked, “On such a day, one must only speak of the Holocaust, not about anything else. I am in Krakow and am listening to their (survivors’) stories. While I am here, I prefer to concentrate on their stories. The Deputy Chief-of-Staff is confused and his statements indicate a complete lack of understanding.”
