Rabbi Yuval Cherlow, head of Yeshivat Orot Shaul, told Arutz Sheva on Wednesday that the Israel’s attitude towards Holocaust survivors was unfair.
“I think a double injustice was done to Holocaust survivors. The first was in the way they were received and understood. In addition, the State of Israel was built dramatically from the reparations money from Germany. The fact that the State is booming as a result of it – and that the survivors are in the poor state they are in – is a stain on Israeli society,” he said.
