The US state of Texas has faced severe weather conditions over the past few days, including floods, tornadoes, hail and rain.
Reuters reports that five family members -- a grandmother and four of her grandchildren -- were killed when the flood waters reached the height of their roof. They had been in the town of Palestine, 160 kilometers from Dallas.
Another local resident also drowned in the flooding.
