Former Speaker of the US House of Representatives Dennis Hastert will be sentenced later today (Wednesday), Associated Press reports. Last year he plead guilty to offering $3.5 million in bribes in order to cover up incidents of sexual assault against high school students.

Hastert is expected to receive up to six months in jail, though the judge has suggested that he is considering handing down a stronger sentence than that which the prosecution requested.

Hastert abused at least four students while he coached high school wrestling in Illinois. The identities of his victims and of the person he tried to bribe have not been released.
